Q: Is Portfolio going to tell
me when I should sell or buy a specific asset ?
A: No, Portfolio has not been designed to trade shares.
It will not give you any indication based on technical analysis. A lot
of softwares have been developped in this area and they must be used
to determine the best time to enter or exit markets.
Q:What are Portfolio main functionalities?
A: Portfolio main functionalities are assets
ranking, portfolio construction, risk reduction,
diversification, assets correlation with indices, weights
optimization by asset.
Q:Which languages?
A:Portfolio is provided in two languages: English
and French. Users have the flexibility to select one of these two languages.
Q: What sort of data do you need?
A: Portfolio needs end of day data for
assets, indices and currency included in your personal data base. This
information must be presented in csv files (Excel or text files) and is
verified and imported automatically.
Q: Is the amount of data limited?
A: The only limitation is the maximum size of your personal
data base i.e. 4 gigabytes. This represents several millions of lines
in the database. Moreover you can have several data-bases.
Q: What are system pre-requisites?
A: Portfolio calculations are computer intensive.
For that reason, it is recommended to use a personal computer of at
least 2 Ghz with 256K memory, even if the software can run on computers
whose processor speed is lower. The software runs on Windows XP or VISTA.
The other system pre-requisites (framework 2.0 or superior, SQL 2005
Express edition and DirectX) are provided within the installation package
and are automatically installed if they are not already present on your
computer. Graphic card must be DirectX compatible (which is the case
for almost all cards). These 3 components are provided free of charge
by Microsoft and the EULA must be accepted by user during installation.
Q: How is licensing?
A: Portfolio users need a license per computer, there
is no server license. For site license and corporate license please
contact us.
